About Our Doctors

William J. Worden, DDS

"Dr. Bill" was born in Chicago, Illinois, but spent the majority of his childhood in a small town outside Vienna, Austria. After attending college in Indiana, he met his wife, Kim, in Long Beach, California. They were married in 1997, and now have three children, Connor, Cole and Ryan Kimberly.

Dr. Worden earned his dental degree at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in 2001. He was selected by the prestigious Children's Hospital in Cincinnati to complete his residency in pediatric dentistry. In 2003, he finished the program as a board eligible pediatric specialist.

After returning to Long Beach, Dr. Worden was privileged to come into and eventually take over his father-in-law's, Dr. Beebe, pediatric dental practice. It is source of great satisfaction that this long-standing practice remains in the family.

Outside of work, Dr. Bill is passionate about golf, coaching youth soccer and spending time with his family.

Mark Ortega, DDS, MSD

Dr. Mark Ortega is a board-certified pediatric dentist and diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is a Southern California native, who completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the UCLA School of Dentistry, where he graduated with honors. While there, he had the honor of serving as president of his dental school class. His passion and enjoyment of working with kids led him to complete a pediatric dentistry residency while simultaneously attaining a Master of Science in Dentistry at the University of Washington and Seattle Children’s Hospital. There, he received extensive training in hospital dentistry, sedation and patients with special needs.

Dr. Ortega strives to provide the best care, through evidence-based dentistry, while building relationships with patients and their families. He believes early prevention and patient/parent education are the foundation of good oral health. Teaching is a passion for him, and he enjoys being part-time clinical faculty teaching residents and future dentists. He is also the current President of the UCLA Dentistry Alumni Association.

Dr. Ortega lives locally and is happy to join our practice here in Long Beach. He is excited to be part of our team and care for our families.

Away from the office he enjoys scuba diving, volunteering, traveling, golfing, gardening and sports with his wife, Christine, who is also a dentist.
